Welcome to the very first edition of Friday's Fortnightly - we really hope you enjoy our fortnightly editions. Over the coming months we have lined up some incredible offers for you to take advantage of, and some great business tips relating to them, so watch out for those every 2 weeks, on a Friday. In this edition, we are talking Twitter!
Twitter followers represent a “potential gold mine” for any business. Treat them as such by keeping a regular eye on your account to see if you have received any comments. If somebody "re-tweets” anything that you post, or suggests to others that they follow your account, you must send them a thank you! Apart from common courtesy, this shows that you are worth following in the first place, as you are interactive.
Make sure that you communicate something of value with your followers and do so regularly, ideally on a daily basis. You know what makes them tick and what they're interested in, so if you know of something topical, or possess some info that could be of advantage to them, tweet it!
Thirdly, engage them by asking for their opinion or help in some way, because after all feedback is very important in your decision-making process. Remember always to communicate, interact and provide value before you ever think about trying to sell anything through Twitter.
Social media phenomenon Twitter and its 75 million or so members has become, alongside Facebook, part of the business marketing revolution. You know that your Twitter presence should be part of your marketing portfolio, but you may be confused or may not have the time to devote to its maintenance. To achieve best results you must treat Twitter as a dynamic resource and should ensure that you have an active band of followers.
